IMSS Executive Board 2015-2016 Application

The Vice-President, Screening CoordinatorFundraising Director, Social Chair, and Health Education Chair are the available positions for next year. General Exec and Individual Positions (minimum) requirements can be found here: https://docs.google.com/a/illinimss.org/document/d/12Y_mLPzpQtmCkSpT3100mfDkBMNzh3ZC6hA03WtrM4w/edit?pli=1. After speaking with 2 IMSS alumni (Charlie and Matt, for those who are curious), we have implemented some changes for individual positions next semester. These are currently being taken into effect.
Process:
1. You will send in an application via: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1TORSQrODx1cIa2Au6U9K3QNfBetBPlI5uwtmj5t4Ido/viewform. We sincerely wish to interview everyone, but depending on the amount of applications received, this may not be a feasible option. Thought and time spent will definitely be on your side when filling out the application.
2. You will be scheduled an interview time on Sunday, April 12th, anywhere from 4-9pm. If you have a conflict during this time, please write this down on your application, and we can accommodate a conflict time on Monday, April 13th in the evening. We will NOTaccommodate you if you contact us after you are given an interview slot.
3. The interview process will consist of 2 parts: an actual interview and a skills-check. We do interviews rather than elections, because we feel that this is a more reliable determination of whether or not you will be a good fit for Exec next year. The skills-check is to make sure that you are capable of performing screening procedures comfortably enough to teach general members next year. If you need extra skills practice, please let me know, and I can arrange for you to meet with someone in the cube. After deliberations are made, Jack will send you the final verdict.
Some considerations: We take Exec very seriously in the time that we put into it each week. I can’t give a definite number of hours of commitment a week, but you should probably expect to devote anywhere from 3-15 hours each week on logistical tasks and showing up to required meetings and events. Some weeks will be less and some will be more (ex. interview and training weeks fit with the latter). It is imperative that you understand this before applying, because appropriate action will be taken by the other Exec members if you do not comply to what is expected of you.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please don’t hesitate to shoot me an email. We wish you the best of luck in the application process!
