One Touch Ultra 2 Glucometer

One Touch Ultra 2 Glucometer

Using the One Touch Ultra 2 Glucometer is a quick and simple way to obtain one’s fastingblood sugar levels.  Blood sugar (or blood glucose) comes from carbohydrate foods and is the main source of energy used by the body.  Insulin is a hormone that helps your body’s cells use the glucose by transporting it from the bloodstream into the cells.  Normally, your blood glucose levels increase only slightly after you eat.  This increase causes your pancreas to release insulin so that your blood glucose levels do not get too high.  With Diabetes, blood glucose levels remain high over time can damage your eyes, kidneys, nerves, and blood vessels.

Normal: 70-100 mg/dL
Pre-Diabetes:100-125 mg/dL

Type I or II Diabetes: 126 mg/dL or higher
